Motorkit also ships outside the European Union (United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia...). Here is everything you need to know about the specific procedures for an international order outside the EU.
1. Ordering: like a European customer
The ordering process is identical to that of a European Union customer:
- Product selection on motorkit.com
- Add to cart
- Choice of your delivery country (which determines shipping cost and VAT calculation)
- Secure payment via Stripe (credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay...)
- Validation and shipment
Tip: all our usual payment methods are available: Visa/Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Revolut Pay. Bancontact and iDEAL are reserved for Belgium and the Netherlands.
2. VAT: exemption outside the European Union
For orders delivered outside the European Union, the Belgian VAT (21%) is not applied to the product amount.
Concretely:
- The inc. VAT price displayed on motorkit.com includes Belgian VAT for EU customers
- At checkout, by selecting a country outside the EU, the VAT amount is automatically deducted from the price
- You receive an excl. VAT invoice for your order
Note: this VAT deduction does not mean total absence of taxes. See next section on customs duties and local taxes.
3. Customs duties and local taxes: at your charge
IMPORTANT: for any delivery outside the EU, customs duties and import taxes may apply when entering your country.
These charges generally include:
- Customs duties on imported goods (variable depending on the country and nature of the parts)
- Local VAT of the destination country (e.g. 20% in United Kingdom, 7.7% in Switzerland, 25% in Norway)
- Customs clearance fees charged by the carrier
- Administrative fees depending on local customs
These charges are exclusively at the recipient's expense and are not included in the price displayed in the cart or in motorkit.com shipping costs.
How are they invoiced?
- The carrier generally contacts you before delivery to indicate the charges to be paid
- Payment is made directly to the carrier (often online or at delivery)
- Without payment from you, the parcel will not be delivered and will return to motorkit.com
Tip: before ordering, find out about the import rules of your country from local customs authorities to estimate the charges.
4. Delivery times outside the EU
Times are necessarily longer than in Europe due to:
- The distance travelled
- Customs clearance
- Handover to the local postal service
As an indication, after shipment from our warehouse:
| Destination | Indicative time |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | 5 to 10 working days |
| Switzerland, Norway | 5 to 10 working days |
| United States, Canada | 7 to 15 working days |
| Australia, New Zealand | 10 to 20 working days |
| Other destinations | To confirm case by case |
Note: these times do not include customs clearance time, which can add several days depending on countries and periods. Tracking may seem "silent" during this phase, this is normal.
5. International carriers
Depending on your destination, your order will be entrusted to:
- bpost International (to the local postal network of your country)
- DPD International (to main European destinations outside the EU)
- UPS (fast international delivery)
The applicable carrier will be indicated in the shipment confirmation email with your tracking number and the tracking link.
6. Special cases by destination
United Kingdom (since Brexit)
The UK now being outside the EU, standard non-EU rules apply:
- Belgian VAT deducted
- UK VAT (20%) charged on import
- Potential customs duties depending on the nature of the parts
- Customs clearance fees charged by the carrier
Switzerland
- Not an EU member, Swiss taxes (VAT 7.7% / 8.1%) on import
- Standard customs clearance fees
- Usually short times (geographic proximity)
Norway
- Not an EU member, Norwegian MVA (25%) on import
- Specific customs clearance procedure
- Potentially high administrative fees

7. Returns and after-sales from abroad

- Return costs are at your charge (except for defective products)
- A customs declaration is required (CN23 or equivalent)
