⚠️ This article only applies to businesses established in the EU outside Belgium. Private individuals, Belgian businesses and customers outside the EU are not concerned (see special cases below).
Conditions to meet
To benefit from VAT-free invoicing:
- Be a business (or self-employed) established in an EU member state other than Belgium
- Hold a valid and active intra-community VAT number on VIES
- The goods must be shipped to an EU country other than Belgium
- The invoice must be issued in the name of the business, not a private individual

How to benefit from it on motorkit.com
Step 1 — When entering your address
When creating your account or entering your billing address:
- Fill in your company name in the "Company" field
- A "VAT number" field appears automatically
- Enter your intra-community number in the format
XX1234567890(no spaces, no dots)
Step 2 — Number validation
Your number is automatically checked against the European VIES database. If VIES is temporarily unavailable, verification is done manually by our team within 24 to 48 working hours.
Step 3 — Order tax-free
Once your number is validated and your delivery address is in an EU country outside Belgium, prices are displayed excluding VAT (excl.) as soon as you log in, and VAT is automatically removed from your basket at checkout.
ℹ️ Tip: if your number is not recognised, first check its validity on VIES — a number not activated for intra-community operations will be rejected.
On your invoice
Official business invoices are issued by our accounting software separate from the PrestaShop order confirmation.
Your business invoice will display:
Reverse charge of VAT
with Total VAT: 0.00 EUR.
This statement justifies the absence of VAT. You declare the VAT yourself in your country via the reverse charge mechanism, in accordance with your local tax regime.
The preferential origin of the goods (Belgium) is also indicated on the invoice, which may be useful for your customs formalities in case of resale.

❓ Frequently asked questions
My VAT number is not recognised on VIES, what should I do? Not all national VAT numbers are automatically published on VIES. Contact your tax administration to have your number activated for intra-community operations. Without VIES validation, we are legally required to apply Belgian VAT.
Can I get a VAT refund on an order already placed? Retroactive adjustment is possible under certain conditions. Contact our support team with your order number and validated VAT number.
Can I order without VAT and have it delivered to Belgium? No. Shipment to an EU country other than Belgium is a strict legal condition of the exemption.
I order for my business but to my personal address, is this possible? Yes, provided the invoice is in the company name and the delivery address is in an EU country outside Belgium.
What is the difference between the order confirmation and the business invoice? The order confirmation is automatically generated by our website (PrestaShop) at the time of purchase. The official invoice, valid for accounting purposes, is issued separately by our Winauditor software and sent by email as a PDF.
